Our History
Living Lord Lutheran History
In March 1987, the founding members of Living Lord Lutheran Church secured a storefront which was made ready for worship by a group of volunteers. The first Service of Worship was held on March 29th. In the spring of 1991, we started the building process for our new church. We broke ground in September 1992 on our present site of eight acres. The first service was Christmas Eve 1993 and the building was dedicated on Palm Sunday, March 27, 1994.
In October 2002, we began our Building for the Son expansion campaign, and by mid-April the congregation had pledged $256,000 over a three-year time frame. Nearly 70% of the congregation participated in that fund raising campaign. God continued to bless us. He led Pastor Jeffrey Gross to accept our call to serve as Pastor and he was installed in February 2003. In October 2003 we dedicated our new Education Building. This building hosts our adult education, Sunday School and All God’s Children Preschool.
In 2009 it was realized that there was need for more fellowship space, so the decision was made to extend the church sanctuary. In July 2009 ground was broken for the extension of the building, with the first service taking place in December of that year. In January 2010 we formally dedicated our new sanctuary, an estimated $400,000 project constructed, trimmed and furnished entirely mortgage free, made possible through the diligent efforts of a loving congregation.
We are currently in the process of planning for another expansion and update to our facility and hope to officially start our building campaign in the fall of 2019.
We welcome all to worship with us. We pray that you find God’s presence in our midst.
