Rhoda Olson

Rhoda lives in Bradenton Florida with Al Kersten, member,  her life partner.  She has been a member of Living Lord Lutheran Church since 2012.  Her married daughter Rachel Chambers lives in south Sarasota, FL.  Raised in Illinois by a Lutheran minister father and organist/pianist mother with 3 siblings. Lived in various states and moved to Florida from Maryland in 2000 with her husband James (deceased 2004).

Rhoda has an R.N. from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, Mo,  a B.A from Valparaiso University and an M.B.A. from Butler University, Indianapolis. She retired from Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where she worked at Bayside Psychiatric Unit as R.N.Team Leader/Counselor.  She earned a DTM award (Distinguished Toastmaster ) from Toastmasters which is the highest award in TM and was governor of her area.   She enjoys singing in the Chancel Choir and playing in JuBELLation Bell choir.  Plays piano (started age 6) for various worship LLLC events.  She recently played for Living Lord Youth Christmas play.

Rhoda serves as Team Leader of Worship and Music Team of 10 members, now entering her 4th year of this team and as Living Lord Lutheran Church Council member for same years.

Rhoda, prior to Covid, volunteered at Oneco School in pre-school classroom  through our church ministry.  Also she served for  3 years in Meals on Wheels Program.
