Stewardship

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “stewardship?” Budgets and spreadsheets? Money? Pledge cards? What about love? Living Lord is a church that is energized by lively engagement in our faith and life, and we have an important message to share: stewardship is about so much more than money! Stewardship is about love.

This approach to stewardship is not primarily about paying the congregation’s bills. Instead, stewardship is about how the congregation together can do God’s work and how we live out God’s call to love God and our neighbors. Stewardship is directly tied to discipleship. Stewardship is a way of life. It is not just about what is given to the congregation, but about how generous we are with all that God has entrusted to our care both inside and outside of the church walls and in our homes.

Each month, members and friends of the congregation support Living Lord with their contributions of time and talent. It is fulfilling to those who give of themselves and important for those who receive. As we give of our time, as we utilize our talents in service to our members we show our love to them and to our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Stewardship IS about love!

Another way that we can express our love to God is through financial giving. We believe that all that we have belongs to God and that we are stewards, or caretakers of the wealth entrusted to us. By making offerings to God through the church, not only do we support its ministries, but also we acknowledge God as giver of all. We find joy in giving, as it reminds us of our dependence upon God as it expresses our gratitude to God for all we have been given.

We embrace Scriptural principles regarding the total stewardship practices of joyous, worshipful, first-fruits giving. In response to receiving blessings from God, our members and friends are invited to support the vision and ministry of Living Lord through electronic giving, or E-Giving. Through regular offerings and special gifts, you join in our ministry and help spread the Gospel to those in our community and around the globe.
